Why are the registration rates higher this year?: This year, the registration rates include the BBQ and the Banquet meal tickets. This is one reason rates are a bit higher. Another reason is that Miami is an expensive city—think Montpelier, France not Albuquerque, NM.
Can I get a refund of my registration fee?: Yes. To cancel your registration for the HBES 2013 Conference, you must contact us no later than May 15th, 2013. For cancellations made by May 15th, 2013, your registration fee will be refunded less a 30% cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for registration cancellations made after May 15th, 2013.
Do I have to purchase both the BBQ and Banquet meal tickets?: Yes, we have one set registration fee.
What will the weather be like in Miami?: Hot and humid. Mid to upper 80s during the day and upper 70s at night. We suggest you bring lightweight clothing and also a light layer as restaurants, stores, and hotels can get chilly.
Where should I stay?: At the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. We have negotiated a great rate ($189/night) that the hotel will extend up to 3 nights before and after the conference.
Do I need to submit a completed manuscript by the stated deadline if I would like to enter the New Investigator or Post-Doctoral Competition?: Yes. No exceptions.
Where will HBES 2014 be held?: Natal, Brazil
