Welcome! HBES is the premier international organization for the study of evolution and human behaviour. The membership includes researchers from a ranges of disciplines in the social, behavioural, and biological sciences.

The 28th annual Human Behavior  and Evolution Society conference will be held June 29th to July 2nd, 2016 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, Canada. The conference will officially begin at 2:30pm June 29th, but NEW THIS YEAR will have TWO free pre-conferences. The Cross-Cultural and Developmental Perspectives on the Evolution of Human Behaviour and Cognition pre-conferene and workshop will be held the day before HBES begins, Tuesday June 28th, 8:30am-5pm, and a pre-conference and datablitz on Social Neuroendocrinology and Evolution will take place the morning of Wednesday June 29th (9-12pm).

Douglas College, Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia are this year’s host institutions with additional sponsorship from the University of Idaho. The local host committee chair is Laura Dane and program committee chair is Catherine Salmon.
