Thom Scott-Phillips is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Cognitive Science at Central European University, Budapest. He does theoretical and experimental research on how evolved, interacting minds generate human culture, with a particular focus on communication and languages. He worked previously at the universities of Edinburgh (in Linguistics) and Durham (in Anthropology), and has received several prestigious fellowships and prizes, including the New Investigator Award from the European Human Behaviour & Evolution Association, in 2010. His first book, Speaking Our Minds, was published in 2014.
