Assistant Professor of Psychology – Evolution, Behavioral Genetics, or Neuroscience

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor opening in Psychology with expertise in one or more of the following areas: evolution, behavioral genetics, or neuroscience. The position will begin August 2017. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related discipline and demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research. Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses in the successful applicant’s area of expertise including graduate courses if appropriate, supervising student research activities and theses, and maintaining an active and productive program of empirical research.

UCCS faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research with the expectation that faculty maintain a productive program of research with commitment to obtain external funding. The eighteen tenure-track faculty in the Psychology Department currently offer a BA program in Psychology, an MA program with tracks in Psychological Science and Clinical Psychology (with optional sub-plans in Trauma, Psychology & Law, Cognition, and Children/Adolescents), and a PhD program in Clinical Psychology with tracks in Geropsychology and Trauma Psychology.
