HBES Fellows

We are happy to announce the introduction of HBES Fellows to recognize those members who have made substantial contributions to the Society in service and scholarship over the course of their career. Criteria and nomination procedures (due May 1st) are described below.

Purpose. The purpose of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society (HBES) Fellows program is to recognize those members who have made substantial contributions to the Society in service and scholarship over the course of their career.

Eligibility. HBES Fellows must be members of HBES, and must have earned their Ph.D. at least 10 years ago.

Criteria. Both scholarly contributions and service to the community, especially the Society, will be considered. Scholarly contributions include published scientific articles, presentations to scholarly communities, and any other contributions to the creation and dissemination of research. Service to the community includes serving as an officer of the Society, serving on editorial boards, outreach to the community, and any other contributions to the community at large.

Nomination. Any member of HBES may nominate any member of HBES, including themselves, to be an HBES Fellow. Nominations are due on May 1st of each year and appointment as an HBES Fellow is determined by a vote of the Executive Council. To nominate someone as an HBES Fellow, send an email to the Secretary of the Society along with a c.v. of the nominee and a letter of no more than one page summarizing the nominee’s contributions and service. HBES Fellows will be announced at the annual meeting of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society.
