Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cooperation Theory

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Athena Aktipis’s lab for individuals with a PhD in Psychology, Biology, Economics, Anthropology, Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline who have interests and experience in cooperation theory.  To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have training in either human laboratory experiments. Other desired qualifications include training in statistical analysis, demography, as well as evolutionary tools and methods.

This post doctoral fellowship is part of the Human Generosity Project, a large-scale transdisciplinary research project to investigate the inter-relationship between biological and cultural influences on human cooperation.  This project, funded by a grant from the Templeton Foundation, uses multiple methodologies to understand the nature and evolution of human cooperation including fieldwork, laboratory experiments and computational modeling.  This position is for a postdoctoral fellow who will be primarily responsible for overseeing experimental laboratory work with human subjects.  This post-doc will develop experimental laboratory paradigms and procedures for testing hypotheses, managing the running of experimental participants, analyzing data and writing up findings.

This positions is for a 1-year term with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years.  Applications should include a cover letter specifying relevant qualifications and training, a CV, a statement of current research interests (max 2 pages), two letters of reference and one peer-reviewed publication.
