The Department of Gender Studies and The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University, Bloomington, announce a joint 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship position in Sexual Science to begin August 2018. Successful candidates will demonstrate methodological emphases in behavioral and/or social sciences, be able to address issues of gender and sexuality though various feminist and queer theoretical lenses, and display a clear commitment to interdisciplinary research and education. Research and teaching interests could include sexual science, relationship science, sex/gender development, gender and health, or related areas. The candidate should have experience with quantitative statistical and analytic techniques. Familiarity with big data, social network analysis, and/or dyads is preferred but not required.
Postdoctoral Fellows will be expected to teach 2-courses per academic year (1-1 course load) within the Department of Gender Studies, with the remainder of their time allocated toward collaborative interdisciplinary research projects within the laboratory of Dr. Justin Garcia (Postdoctoral Supervisor). Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to be in residence for the academic year and participate fully in the intellectual life of both the Department and the Institute. Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent, and be no more than five years past the PhD. Research and teaching experience preferred.
This is a 12-month position, and includes an annual stipend of $55,000, up to $10,000 per year in research and professional development expenses (e.g., workshops, conference travel), health benefits including coverage for the employee and a spouse, office space in the Department of Gender Studies, laboratory space at The Kinsey Institute, and administrative support.
