Human Behavioral Ecology Bibliography

After a long hiatus, Kermyt Anderson has resuscitated the Human Behavioral Ecology Bibliography (HBEB) as an editable google document. Feel free to add any relevant citations for human behavioral ecology that aren’t in there, especially from 2013 onward. (There are over 1250 pubs listed there — but only about 100 for the past four years.) And please share this link with any colleagues or students who might find it useful.

Message from the New President

I want to thank Kristin Snopkowski and John Ziker once again for organizing a very successful HBES. Running annual conferences is a herculean task, done on a volunteer basis, and the Society is grateful for an in debt to the entire team at Boise.

I also want to say congratulations to all of our award winners this year! The names of the winners are all available at hbes.com. While all of our winners can be proud of their accomplishments, I want to add a special congratulations to Rob Boyd and Pete Richerson, winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Coren Apicella, winner of the Early Career Award. And while on the subject of congratulations, they are due as well to our new officers, elected by the membership.

Please also note that the winner of the Margo Wilson Award, given by the Society’s journal, Evolution and Human Behavior, is, as in previous years, available as an open access paper, free for all to download. In addition, this year, through our arrangements with Elsevier, we will also be able to make the top three runners up available for open access. Check back soon on the journal’s home page, which will be updated shortly. And next time you are considering where to send your completed manuscripts first, please remember that the Margo Wilson Award, in addition to honoring one of our Society’s true heroes, also comes with a $3,500 prize.
