The Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University has two tenure-track Assistant Professor openings for a fall 2020 start.
(1) DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY is seeking an outstanding scientist to fill one full-time, Assistant Professor, tenure track position in Psychology beginning August 2020, with an area of specialization in biopsychology. Candidates must have a strong background and research expertise in the biological bases of behavior, broadly defined (e.g., genetic contributions to behavior, psychoneuroendocrinology, cognitive or social neuroscience). We prefer candidates with expertise that will contribute to a new interdisciplinary center housed in the Department of Psychology, the Oklahoma Center for Evolutionary Analysis (OCEAN). OCEAN fosters cross-cutting research, training of future research faculty, and educational outreach through the associated annual conference. Ideal candidates will be scholars in the areas of evolutionary psychology, evolutionary medicine, social/affective neuroscience or closely related-areas. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity and to interact well with colleagues and students. They must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high-quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publications, presentations, and grantsmanship. Successful candidates will be social psychologists with research programs on social emotions and/or social cognition, whose work has implications for health (e.g., mental health, physical health, health disparities). Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity, and to interact well with colleagues and students. They must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high-quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publications, presentations, and grantsmanship.
